Abstract: In this course we plan to give definitions, (plenty of) examples, and basic properties of categories, morphisms, isomorphisms, monomorphisms and epimorphisms, initial, terminal, and zero objects, functors, morphisms of functors, representable functors, and adjoints. The final aim of the course is to show how most of the common constructions in Mathematics can be described with a common language, turning out to be so called adjoints.
