Abstract: Pre-axiomatic and historical introduction to ZF (finite and
countable sets, Schroeder-Bernstein Theorem, Cantor’s theorem, ordinal
and cardinal numbers, paradoxes). Axioms of ZF. Representation of basic
mathematical concepts in ZF. Well orderings and definition by
transfinite recursion. Ordinals and initial ordinals. Axiom of choice
and equivalents. Introduction to Alternative set theory.
