Abstract: TMatrix representations and group modules; reducibility and complete reducibility; Maschke’s theorem; G-homomorphisms and Schur’s lemma; group characters and inner products of characters; and, time permitting, group algebras and their decompositions. All representations will be considered over the field of complex numbers (characteristic zero, algebraically closed).
