Abstract: This course is designed to encourage students to work collaboratively and develop mathematical reading skills while learning algebra. Each week, we will choose a short expository paper or blog post on (or related to) algebra and read it together in class. Through guided discussion, we will aim to understand the ideas in the text, attempt to prove the theorems and propositions independently, extend the given examples, come up with new questions, and explore possible answers. Due to the nature of the course, the topics covered each week will be independent.
