Abstract: I will begin by explaining the importance of Sylow theorems in the context of finite groups. Following this, I will discuss analogues of these theorems in the realm of infinite groups. Through examples, we will observe that the conjugacy of Sylow p-subgroups can fail, even in the case of linear infinite groups. If time allows, I will also discuss pseudofinite groups within the framework of Sylow theory.
