Abstract: This course serves as an introduction to geometric topology, tailored for undergraduate students with no prior exposure to the field. In this course, we will study surfaces and knots and their topological invariants. Topics include mathematical cut-and-paste, gluing diagrams, Euler characteristics, surface classification theorems, knot theory, and Seifert surfaces with various computations and applications of these notions for fundamental examples.
