Abstract: In this course we will define presheaves and sheaves, with many examples. The core of the course is to show how they can model the relation between local and global properties of an object (with a topology) and where this local-to-global process fails. In the end, we will discuss how these failures are the basic motivation for introducing (sheaf) cohomology.
