Abstract: This course aims to introduce basic properties of orthogonal polynomials on the complex plane. We will discuss orthogonal polynomials, recurrence coefficients and their zeros, Jacobi matrices, the relation between Jacobi matrices and compactly supported finite Borel measures on the real line, Zero Distribution of Orthogonal Polynomials, Regular measures and n^th root asymptotics.
