Abstract: We will study the famous theorem of Iwasawa about the growing of the $p$-part of the class group in an infinite tower of number fields. We review the construction of $p$-adic $L$-functions. Finally, we study the meaning of the Iwasawa Main Conjecture, if time allows we shall also explain further generalizations.
