Abstract: Cerrtain key concepts in mathematics, apparently not related, turn out to be special cases of general categorical notions.This suggests that there is something deeper behind revealed by categorical methods. In this course,  we will introduce and study the so-called  adjoint functor which unifies most of the well-known universal constructions  appearing in many branches of mathematics.
