Abstract: Toric Varieties are important objects in algebraic geometry that have been studied extensively. They have many interesting combinatorial properties and arise in many applications. In this course we give an introduction to toric varieties. The audiance is required to have background in algebra and some basic algebraic geometry notions. Our main source is Fulton’s book Introduction to Toric Varieties.
